Oaks
Pioneer Church is one of the true charmers in the pantheon of Portland wedding venues. Constructed
in 1851, this historical landmark was relocated three times until, in 1961, it made its
final journey (by barge!), to the Sellwood neighborhood of
Southeast Portland, where it resides today, crowning a knoll with a view to the nearby
Willamette River. A cozy wedding venue seating 75
plus wedding party, the non-denominational Oaks Pioneer Church becomes
absolutely resplendent in sunlight, particularly
when that light streams through the stunning stained-glass work which
forms the centerpiece of the building's western wall.
Somewhat befitting its siting in the antique-store-rich Sellwood, Oaks Pioneer
Church features a melodious, antique pump organ as its primary music source. Other
ammenities include bathrooms and compact dressing areas. While the church itself is a ceremony
site, wedding reception space is available about 10 blocks away at the
